10 anti-ageing oils to use now

Notre Sérum Cana'Bo - Anti-âge à base d’huiles végétales

Écrit par Ecosystem Laboratoire - Publié le

As the body changes with age, so does the skin. The first wrinkles appear, and a few dark spots as well, due to hormonal variations... There are many all-natural anti-ageing plant oils that can mask these signs of ageing. Discover in this article 10 examples of anti-ageing plant oils!

Borage oil

Borage oil is one of the best known natural anti-wrinkle agents. Its high content of gamma-linolenic acid helps to accelerate cell regeneration, which slows down with age. This product not only restores the skin's elasticity, but also helps to moisturise it deeply. Borage oil therefore seems ideal for reducing wrinkles and soothing atopic, tight, dry or even very dry or simply mature skin. In practice, it is often combined with another anti-ageing plant oil, evening primrose oil.

Evening primrose oil

Like borage oil, evening primrose oil contains a high concentration of linoleic acid and vitamin E, making it the ideal ingredient for regenerating skin cells. Also recommended for reducing the wrinkles and fine lines that appear with age, it restores the upper layers of the epidermis and helps to rehydrate them in depth. It also has real anti-inflammatory properties, perfect for calming eczema or psoriasis. Too concentrated to be suitable for young skin, evening primrose oil is therefore one of the best friends of mature, dry or irritated skin.

Argan oil

Often included in most anti-ageing cosmetics, Argan oil has real virtues for reducing wrinkles and making the skin supple. Obtained by pressing the seeds of the argan tree, a tree that exists only in Morocco, it is an excellent anti-wrinkle vegetable oil. Argan oil contains a high concentration of vitamin E and antioxidants, which again helps to regenerate the skin, but also to restore its radiance and vitality. It also protects against premature ageing and external aggression and has restructuring properties thanks to its unsaponifiable content.

Sea buckthorn oil

Sea buckthorn oil contains a large quantity of omegas 3 and 6, which help to stimulate the skin's regeneration mechanisms. It also promotes healing and is rich in antioxidants. Orange in colour, this oil also contains a high dose of vitamin E and anti-inflammatories, ideal for combating the harmful effects of the sun's rays. Like the previous ones, it also helps to soothe tightness and irritation on mature skin. Because of its high concentration, it is often diluted in other more neutral preparations and is suitable for all skin types.

Calophyllum oil

Less famous than the others, calophylla oil works wonders in one particular area: reducing dark circles and bags under the eyes. Suitable for all skin types, it penetrates deep into the epidermal layers thanks to its high omega 6 content and naturally smoothes the skin. Rich in trace elements, polyphenols and vitamin E, it also has healing and antioxidant properties.

Safflower oil

Often recommended to soothe atopic, dry to very dry skin, safflower oil also has regenerative, healing and antioxidant properties. In practice, it actively participates in the vasoconstriction of the blood vessels of reddened skin and restores its radiance. Obtained by pressing the seeds of the dyer's safflower, it strengthens the elasticity of the skin and is sometimes used, like calophylla oil, to reduce dark circles.

Prickly pear seed oil

Mature skin, tired or suffering from heavy sun exposure, also finds a real ally in prickly pear seed oil. Sometimes combined with argan oil for a stronger anti-ageing effect, it contains a high dose of sterols and vitamin E, which stimulates the regeneration of the cells making up the epidermis. Perfect for combating the effects of oxidative stress, it restructures and firms the skin in a completely natural way. It is also very effective in reducing stretch marks.

Raspberry seed oil

Raspberry seed oil is also cold-pressed and is just as famous for its nourishing and regenerating properties. Rich in antioxidants, it restores radiance to the face and helps restore a healthy glow, while stimulating cellular renewal of the epidermis. When applied before summer, it helps to fix the tan better and gives a certain amount of tan. In addition to reducing wrinkles on mature skin, it is particularly moisturising and soothing in the event of irritation or redness.

Hemp oil

Known for its toning action, hemp oil is also a very effective natural anti-wrinkle agent. Highly concentrated in antioxidants, it combats the effect of free radicals and promotes the renewal of skin cells, thus reducing wrinkles. Like the previous oils mentioned, it also helps to maintain the hydrolipidic film protecting the skin thanks to its high concentration of fatty acids. It is therefore an excellent way to moisturise combination, dry and mature skin.

Rose hip oil

Straight from the Chilean Andes, rose hip oil comes from the rose hip flower. This vegetable oil, rich in linoleic acid, stimulates the regeneration of skin cells, restores radiance to the complexion, reduces wrinkles and diminishes the brown spots that appear with age. It is therefore ideal for mature and tired skin. Often combined with hemp oil, it acts in depth and prevents premature signs of ageing.

Before applying a vegetable oil to the face, it is often recommended to cleanse the face thoroughly the night before in order to nourish the skin and keep the complexion radiant by removing all dirt.
